(ANS - Hyderabad) - On the third day of his animation visit to the Salesian Province of St Joseph, Hyderabad, the Rector Major met the Salesians and the members of the Salesian Family, mostly of Telangana Region, at Don Bosco Moti Nagar, Hyderabad.

“Everything is possible, when we have the required strength. Though, the Sociological changes are happening quickly around the world, we need to have a clear vision in mind to march forward for the next 25years,” said the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime during his interaction with the members of the Salesian Family.

He stated that the Salesians of the Hyderabad Province were on the path of growth characterized by responsibility and coherence. He enumerated that the Province was like a human person who undergoes different stages of growth. Similarly, the Province was becoming robust over the years in numbers as well as in the expansion and growth of communities.  He  affirmed, “There is a tremendous growth in the province from my previous visit to the present. To continue this growth, we need to keep in mind that vocations to Salesian life will not come spontaneously like earlier days. We need to ensure personal accompaniment in the present age.”

The 10th successor cautioned that when the mission does not grow, the option is not to abandon and go away, rather to guarantee the charismatic identity in every house, even though the Salesians may not be present physically. We need to spread the charism and be ready to face a different future.

The Rector Major in his message also affirmed, that the greatest strength of the Congregation is the presence of the youth, especially the poor youth. He congratulated the Provincial and the members of the Province for living up to this mission in the Province, and reminded them that the strength of the Province also lies in its confreres and that they should be looked after well.

Speaking to the Salesian family consisting of Salesians, FMA sisters, Sisters of Mary Immaculate, MSMHC, Salesian Co-operators, ADMA, Past pupils, School staff, youth and children, the 10th successor of Don Bosco encouraged everyone to become agents of hope, and never become pessimistic about life. As members of the Salesian family we need to become the agents of hope in the society. “Let us be happy people and live our vocation beautifully in family life and give witness through our own life. You are the big force in the Salesian family, and the yeast in the human family of today” said Fr Ángel to the members of the Salesian family.

A book titled ‘Youth-Abhyudayam’, authored by Bro Gregory Chinnabathuni SDB, was released by the 10th Successor to mark the occasion and copies were distributed to a few dignitaries. Few breath-taking performances by the school children of Don  Bosco School, Moti Nagar also added colour to the gathering.
