Brazil - Salesian School Athletes Shine at Interstate Karate Tournament

Araçatuba, Brazil – May 2025 – Students from Colégio Salesiano “Dom Luiz Lasagna” excelled at the 21st Interstate Karate Tournament in Tupi Paulista on May 25. Competing against 900 athletes from five states, the 19-member Salesian delegation won five golds, one silver, and six bronze medals. Among the standouts was the school’s first female Kata team—Maria Clara Garcia (8), Anna Isabel Cacure (8), and Olívia Carvalho (10)—who won gold in the under-12 category. Daniel Sedlacek secured another gold after a stellar year, and Bernardo Raniel earned bronze despite being a newcomer. The event also showcased family support, with parents cheering all athletes, embodying the Salesian spirit of unity and mutual encouragement.
