Angelo Santorsola was born on December 15th, 1967, in Caserta, Italy. He did his novitiate in Lanuvio in 1986, he pronounced his perpetual vows in Rome on October 29th, 1993, and was ordained a priest in his hometown on June 10th, 1995.
In the IME Province he was Delegate for Missionary Animation (2003-2006) and Vocations (2004-2006), then Vicar, Delegate for Formation and the Salesian Family (2011-2015), besides being Novice Master in Genzano (2005-2011). At present he is Rector of the House of Naples-Vomero.
His installation is scheduled for the month of August.
Francisco Sánchez Carrión was born in Paltas, Ecuador, on April 21st, 1957. He did his novitiate in Rio Negro, Colombia, in 1978-79, and pronounced his perpetual vows in Cumbayá, on December 30th, 1984. He was ordained a priest on August 19th, 1989.
From 1989 to 1991 he was Secretary of the Salesian Superior Institute and Vicar of the Post-novitiate in Quito, whereas from 1992 to 1997 he was Novice Master in Cumbayá. He served the Province as Vicar (1997-2002) and was already Provincial of the Salesian of Ecuador during the six-year period 2002-2008. Later on, Fr. Paco, as he is affectionately called by all, served as Rector of the Don Bosco House of Guayaquil (2008-2014) and he is now Director of “North Zone Salesian Project”.
His installation is scheduled for Thursday February 2nd in the parish of Mary Help of Christians in Quito-El Girón.
Alfred Maravilla was born in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, on July 31st, 1962. After doing his novitiate in Canlubang, he left as missionary to Papua New Guinea (PNG), where on March 24th, 1988, he pronounced his perpetual vows in Gabutu. After studying Theology in Cremisan, Israel, he was ordained a priest in his hometown on August 15th, 1992.
After the ordination he returned to PNG where from 1995 to 2002 he was rector of various houses, and from 2002 to 2006, Director of the National Catechetical-Liturgical Centre of the Bishops’ Conference of PNG.
Since 2008 he has been working in the Dicastery for the Missions at the General House in Rome, dealing especially with the formation and accompaniment of missionaries.
Fr. Maravilla, who speaks Filipino, English, Italian, Spanish, French and Malay Pidgin, succeeds Fr. Pedro Baquero, who was appointed Superior of PGS in July 2016, but was named Bishop of Kerema, PNG, by Pope Francis last January 20th.
