Philippines – Don Bosco Pugad: with the Young and for the Young

22 February 2017

(ANS – Manila) – Almost 30 years of the Pugad Don Bosco in Makati, Manila - Philippines is not a short time. Over the years hundreds of youth in need, most of them poor migrant youth coming to the capital or street children have got a home, family and good chance to grow. Over the years, the integral education services have become more complete and include the human and Christian growth of the young people. Below there are just three snapshots.

Recently Casa di Don Bosco (Home for Weary Souls) was opened in Sitio Quilo-Quilo, Barangay Makina in the Municipality of Balete, Batangas. It's operated by Pugad Migrants who have graduated or are still in training. This is the Salesian way of empowering the young to soar high!

Another interesting initiative is Don Bosco Pugad’s Media-Advertising Services. “We have a variety of services that would answer your needs. Give us your ideas and we lay them down to you in the medium of your choice. This is a livelihood project of the Center utilizing its students doing IT courses under the guidance of professional media personnel. Give us a chance to serve you... Try us...” says Fr David Buenaventura SDB.

The Pugad family’s Pro-Life awareness campaign against the Death Penalty is another initiative to form not only good Christians but also honest citizens of our country.
