(ANS - Montevideo) - "It's worth it" is the name of a program that started five months ago. Conducted by a group of young communicators of Salesian inspiration, the program is on the radio frequencies of the Montevideo Archdiocese station: Radio Oriental 770 AM.

The program is far more than just a radio show: it is an Educommunication experience that involves accompanying the processes these young people face in their daily lives as professional speakers and broadcasters.

Every Saturday at 9 o'clock, accompanied by the red light of the live radio broadcast, an adrenaline rush is sparked, something that can be defined as the “Salesian joy” many have experienced in Salesian courtyards, and that here, once a week, goes gar beyond the usual spaces to fill the airwaves.

From 9 to 10:30, Nicolás Vilche, Selene Cardarello, Juan José Malvárez, Rodrigo Lozano and the seminarian Nicolás Soto take to the Radio Oriental microphones, while Juan Pablo Paipó, the program director, guarantees the playlist and script are respected without, however, dampening that degree of spontaneity that promotes empathy with the program's guests and listeners.

The show started thanks to the joint and synergistic work of the Salesian Youth Ministry and the Salesian Communication System, and wants to be the space of an "Outgoing Church" wherein to satisfy that nostalgia for God that every human being has (even without their knowing it). For this reason, every week since 12 November 2016 the show opens to believers and non-believers and addresses issues that are important for everyone, with guests providing different outlooks or points of view in an approach that consists of dialogue, listening, and open-mindedness for the mutual enrichment of all participants.

“Pope Francis invites us to be an 'outgoing Church' and the 'It's worth it' program is the way we found to be part of that reaching out, meeting with others,” explains producer Juan Pablo. “During live broadcasts, we talk about things that are part of our lives, our reality and the people around us ... It is a space we are given to learn and share and we have fun.”
