The Salesian Accompanyer:
- Accompanies the young in this “favorable time” in vocational discernment by experiencing in their turn the beauty of allowing themselves to be accompanied.
- Helps the young, with patience and loving-kindness, to discover that he or she is a gift and capable of making the the great life plan awaiting him or her become a reality through listening to God’s voice.
- Fosters a spiritual climate through a humble and joyful presence and witness.
- Offers everyone the opportunity to be accompanied by taking the first step, with empathetic listening, and valuing individuality, excluding no one.
- Proposes a Spirituality with a unified vision by living an authentic Christ-like presence.
- Witnesses to joy by loving the young and making them feel the Love of God.
- Experiences the logic of the “Come and See” through a silent and coherent witness which manifests the presence of the Risen One and invites the young to take up their journey.
- Lives the communal dimension by creating a home which welcomes by means of their gaze, “knowing how to be”, being open to the world, and fullness of life.
- Dedicates time to personal encounters by listening with the Heart of Christ the Good Shepherd.
- Looks at life with trust and hope, confiding themselves to the Lord, walking next to the young, and reawakening in them the desire to have an encounter with Him.
