ANS: a bridge of communication

12 March 2016

We are stealing the Pope's job!

On 13 March we celebrated the third year of the pontificate of Pope Francis. He really lives up to his name as "pontifex", the one who builds bridges. He has distinguished himself as a man of communion, in a society that strives to build walls and divisions.

For this reason ANS has chosen to launch its new web site close to 13 March. It will be an online communication bridge that aims to improve, update and simplify the way information is presented.

• A window on the Salesian Congregation

The mission of our website is to be an online window through which the mission of the Congregation in the world is seen.

• Zooming in on Salesians around the world

ANS enables us to get to know and to study the life of the Congregation, our service to the Church and to young people. Above all, it gives us the ability to recognize ourselves as Salesians who work in the different situations of youth wherever we are present.

• A service of sharing

As the Rector Major says, ANS "allows us to share the good things we do", and discover the facts and the richness of our charism as it is lived in the five continents.

Through ANS, we will inform you of the results of initiatives and projects that our confreres carry out among young people. Our day-to-day agency presents the richness of Salesian life in the world today.

• An agency different from others

In a world where media strive mainly to be the voice of bad news, scandals and pain, we want through our site, as far as possible, to be bearers of good news and reiterate every day that the world we live in is full of people who live for the good of others, that in the five continents men and women share with young people the effort to make this world a better place.

• A site for our times

Our new site will allow us to expand our information services with the integration of new sections and applications, for a communication more in keeping with the times that we live in.
