Brazil – “Pão Nosso”, a humorous programme for evangelization on YouTube

(ANS - Natal-RN) - The programme "Pão Nosso" ("Our Bread") was created to evangelize in a light-hearted way, combining humour and typical topics of Christianity. It was done on a YouTube channel of the same name and produced in Natal. The programme was designed and produced by members of the youth groups of the Salesian parish in Gramoré district, along with members of the local Salesian Youth Movement and young people from other Catholic movements.

The channel was created by a group of friends who decided to use YouTube as a means of evangelization. Through it, they do not propose to discuss religion, but only to show viewers the joy of serving Christ, with the help of humorous videos that relate to everyday life situations of young Catholics.

Ranieri Dantas, founder and one of the project coordinators, says:  "I've always been a fan of YouTube channels: I have subscribed to many different channels, from those that show sketches to those catering for video-game lovers. And I thought there was something missing for Catholics like me who love videos and YouTube."

In October 2015 the project was presented. Other young people joined in and added to it.  According to Yves Justin, the idea of ​​the name came from the invocation of the Lord's Prayer that says 'give us this day our daily bread', because it has in it "the idea of ​​transmitting our content in order to give daily food to people, with humour, joy and life. The ''bread” in this case is evangelization by means of humour, because the Word of God is food for man that comes to us from God."

The channel will feature some programmes with specific names and topics: "Hipérbolas" (a sketch); "Na cova dos leões" (blogs); "Fornada" (questions and answers), "Tag" and "Mandamentos do Pão" (lists), "Harpas envenenadas" (parodies and rap competitions) "Neste dia" (Biographies) and "Top nosso" (the top ten).

One of the objectives of the channel - that at this early stage will have fortnightly updates - is to become a producer of content so that its materials can be used by others in their presentations, conferences and courses.
