(ANS - Cochabamba) - As part of the five-year program (2017-2021) "Fostering socio-labor insertion through vocational training for beneficiaries in vulnerable situations", financed by the Ministry of Development Cooperation of Belgium, from 5 to November 8, at Cochabamba, a seminar entitled "National Meeting 2018" was held. The event saw the participation of the religious and lay people responsible for the Centers for Vocational Training (CFP), Salesians and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, included in the program.

The meeting was organized by the Bolivia Planning and Development Office (OFPROBOL) and led by Steven De Craen, Project Manager from the "VIA Don Bosco" Salesian NGO in Bolivia and Tanzania.

The aim of the workshop was to evaluate the progress of the 2018 program and to design and plan the challenges for the coming year. Other topics discussed included the financial sustainability of the CFP, the approach to "Dignified Work" and the analysis of the results of the methodologies "Tell me a story" and "Creators of Sense", which seek to understand and know the reality of young people being formed in the CFPs and to propose measures of action calibrated to their needs, to strengthen the educational proposal - always according to the Salesian charism.

Dr De Craen said the most important aspect of the work of "VIA Don Bosco" in Bolivia is the technical-professional training of young and old, meaning, in this second case, all those initiatives taken to give a second chance, through education and study, to those who perhaps find themselves without work in mature age.

OFPROBOL and other Salesian organizations actively collaborate with "VIA Don Bosco".

"Within OFPROBOL works a team of very competent and committed people for young people. I was able to observe it every day of work I spent with them," said De Craen. "Personally I think this meeting is a very positive experience, because it has been created with participatory dynamics and with a clear commitment on the part of all the participants. I felt part of them, it was a work space where many experiences were at stake and a very good self-assessment was made", he concluded.

"VIA Don Bosco" is a Belgian Salesian NGO that will celebrate 50 years of activity in 2019. Marked by the motto "Education changes the world", it works specifically in technical-vocational teaching and focuses on the transfer of skills to local teams, so that they can then carry out training and support programs.
