Brescia, Italy - October 2019 - On 19 October, at the Aula Magna of the Diocesan Cultural Center of Brescia, the annual award ceremony for Italian missionaries of the "Cuore Amico" Association was held. Here, Fr Roberto Cappelletti (the first from the left), a Salesian missionary in the Amazon, amidst 13 indigenous ethnic groups in the deep Brazilian Northwest, received the "Carlo Marchini" Award in recognition of the work done by the Salesians in the indigenous Salesian mission of Iauaretê, territory of Alto Rio Negro. Fr Cappelletti, together with his confreres from the Manaus Province (BMA), carries out a valuable task of redeeming the dignity of the natives, especially of children, adolescents and women who live in the immense forests. The "Carlo Marchini" Association has been working for 30 years to help the Salesian Missions in the Amazon region. Present at the ceremony were the bishop of Brescia, Msgr. Pierantonio Tremolada, and other civil and religious authorities.
