Ecuador - Sports to foster friendships and feel "Salesian"
Quito, Ecuador - November 2019 - More than 450 young people from the Salesian School Centers of Ecuador gathered from November 10th to 12th at the Cardenal Spellman Educational Unit to take part in the 2019 National Salesian Games, in the male Futsal and Football disciplines. Fr Francisco Sánchez, Superior of the Salesian Province of Ecuador (ECU), and his Vicar Fr Ángel Lazo, presided over the opening ceremony with the participation of 14 sports delegations and various Salesian authorities. The event was organized by the Salesian community "Kennedy". During his welcome message, its director Fr Naún Tapia emphasized that one of the fundamental elements of the Salesian educative pastoral proposal is, indeed, sports. The games ended with the awards ceremony.
