(ANS - Rome) - "It is enough that you are young for me to love you very much," Don Bosco used to say. However, his universal love for young people had a preferential way for the young people who were most in need and most tried by life. Such as young refugees, those who had to leave their country, their affections, and their home because of war; or those, today, who have remained in Ukraine, risking their lives. Today, the Sons of Don Bosco and all those who share his legacy and mission are working across the board, and in so many different realities around the globe, to provide opportunities for young people who have escaped war so that they may have an opportunity for recreation and fun, as well as growth and development for their future.
(ANS - Rome) - After 137 grueling days of war - bloody, violent, unjust, like all wars - the Salesian Coordination for Emergency Response in Ukraine is witnessing some signs that indicate a certain "fatigue" among the benefactors and volunteers who in various ways so far have carried on the powerful Salesian relief machine. But because displaced persons and refugees cannot afford any "fatigue", the Salesian effort continues more active than ever, and is being developed, as always, on several fronts.

(ANS - České Budějovice) - Salesians and their collaborators in České Budějovice, Czech Republic, are preparing three summer camps for young Ukrainian refugees. After their extraordinarily painful experiences over the past four months, this is not a luxury, but a necessity.
(ANS - Rome) - A full 127 days have passed since that February 24 which marked a new phase in the life of Europe and, considering the geopolitical setbacks, for the entire world. Throughout this time, the Salesian Family has not for a moment ceased to commit itself to the good of the victims of the war, to the millions of refugees and internally displaced persons. And it still continues to do so, planning new projects or carrying on those already underway.
Prague, Czech Republic - June 2022 - On Sunday, June 12, in the Salesian church of "St. Therese of Lisieux" the ceremony of sending Czech missionary volunteers abroad was held. The four young people, Adam, Josef, Josefína, and Vojtěch, who have been preparing for a year for service in Salesian missions through the Salesian NGO "SADBA," will travel to Ecuador, Tanzania, Mongolia, and Bulgaria. The event was attended by people from various countries of the Salesian world: from the Salesian Headquarters in Rome, Fr. George Menamparampil came as a delegate of the Missions Sector; from Mongolia, missionary Fr. Jaroslav Vracovský; from Zambia, Salesian missionary coadjutor František Radecki. Also present were four members of the Salesian Missionary Volunteer Advisory Committee: Lauren Hichaaba, from the Province of Australia (AUL); Fr. Juan Carlos Montenegro, from the United States West (SUO) Province; and two members from the Salesian Headquarters in Rome, Fr. Rafael Bejarano of the Sector for Youth Ministry, and Fr. Pavel Ženíšek, of the Sector for Missions. The new volunteers are a sign of hope for many young people and a beautiful witness of service in the Salesian charism.

Masha Shumkova is a teacher and Olena Halushka is a psychologist. Both of them used to work at a children's centre in Zaporizhia, Ukraine. What is the situation of Ukrainian children? What do they have to deal with? And how can we help people fleeing the war? Olena answered these and other questions.
(ANS - Lviv) - Living Easter in a time of war is not easy. But those who have staked their whole lives on faith in the Resurrection of Jesus are called to bear witness to it even under the bombs and to be bearers of hope for those who are tried by mourning, by having to flee from their homes, abandon their past lives. That's why, on the occasion of the Orthodox Easter, celebrated last Sunday, April 24, 2022, the Salesian coordination for emergency response in Ukraine had a special thought for the people victimized by the war.

(ANS - Warsaw) - "The desire to help comes from the heart. We have seen the images of these people, of the refugees, and we can do nothing but pray and help." Christoph, a German professor who came to Poland with other colleagues and compatriots to bring medicine and relief to Ukrainian refugees, expresses very well the spirit that animates the many volunteers who for many weeks have been helping the Salesians in their humanitarian work towards the citizens fleeing from the war in Ukraine.
