Zagreb, Croatia - August 2020 - On Saturday 29th of August, Sanjin Jurić, Marko Majić Mazul and Josip Tafra of Croatian Salesian Province of St. John Bosco gave their perpetual vows. The Holy Mass was precided by fr. Tihomir Šutalo, provincial, in Mater Libertatis sanctuary in Zagreb. Families and friends of Sanjin, Marko and Josip gathered for this important day together with young people from oratories and members of the Salesian family.
Marija Bistrica, Croatia - June 2020 - On June 20, in the National Sanctuary of Marija Bistrica, Cardinal Josip Bozanić, Archbishop of Zagreb, ordained the Salesians Pavao Špoljar and Ivan Veriga as priests. Fr Tihomir Šutalo, Superior of the Salesian Province of Croatia (CRO), various Salesians, members of the Salesian Family, young people and family members also took part in the celebration.
Turin, Italy - June 2020 - On June 13, in the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco, the diaconal ordination of twelve Salesians took place, Salesians who concluded the theological triennium at the Turin section of the Salesian Pontifical University, the International Institute Don Bosco in Turin "Crocetta". The celebration was presided by the archbishop of Turin, Msgr. Cesare Nosiglia; also present, the Provincials and several Salesians of the Provinces of origin of the deacons, and family members. For health security reasons many, unable to participate, followed the celebration via live streaming.
Zagreb, Croatia - May 2020 - On May 24, on the occasion of the feast day of Mary Help of Christians, a new ADMA group was established in the Salesian parish of Mary Help of Christians in Zagreb-Knežija, in the presence of the Provincial, Fr Tihomir Šutalo. The president of the group is Oto Horvat, the spiritual animator is the director-parish priest, Fr Ivan Šibalić.
Split, Croatia - March 27, 2020 - The Salesian parish "Mary Help of Christians" in Split has joined an initiative of the students of the Faculties of Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Split, granting them the use of the 3D printer to produce protective visors for medical personnel who are treating patients with COVID-19. 3D printers are working non-stop under the supervision of the Salesians. “We could not ignore the laudable gesture of our students. In collaboration with the county and the center of excellence, we offered our 3D printer for the production of visors for doctors and medical personnel and we have started production," said the Salesians of the parish, who two years ago in the presence of the Rector Major celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Salesian presence in Split.
Zagreb, Croatia - January 2020 - On January 31, on the occasion of the feast day of Don Bosco, seven new Salesian Cooperators issued their promise in the church of Mary Help of Christians. The Mass was presided by Fr Stjepan Bolkovac, Provincial Delegate for the Association of Salesian Cooperators.

Italy – A Salesian on the front line of the war in Ukraine: "Being close counts, words come later"(ANS - Rome) - As he tells with a gentleness that does not seem to come from horror, he is "resting a little bit" in Rome these days. Fr Oleh Ladnyuk is a Ukrainian Salesian priest who is a military chaplain at the front, among the soldiers who fight in defence of their country and among the civilians who for over two years have seen their lives wiped out. He brings humanitarian aid where the missiles fall and from those places he helps with the evacuation of young people and adults - so far at least 500 people, but there are probably many more. These days the Salesian – who carries out his ministry in Dnipro and teaches History in a state school in the city – is in Rome to take part with two other priests and a dozen lay people from his country in the "Accompanying when Trauma Hits" course hosted by the Pontifical Salesian University in collaboration with the Faculty of Educational Sciences, with the DON BOSCO NEL MONDO Foundation and the Don Bosco Network. A project that aims to provide theoretical and methodological tools to deal with the traumas caused by war.
