(ANS - Santa Fe) - The students of the last year of the "Don Bosco" Institute in Santa Fe organized a "solidarity basket" to share with more than 200 people. As usual, big ideas come from small things. Given the closure of schools, the school proposed to continue to keep in contact with all the students and they started on a project that nobody imagined.
The young people told us that they love us, that they really love us as educators, and like friends, brothers, and parents, since, they added, the young people of today suffer from a great dearth of fatherly care and concern.
(ANS - Cremisan) - In order to restore impetus to the Cremisan house in Israel, the Salesians are organizing a series of activities aimed at involving the local inhabitants, such as mini-training courses related to the cultivation of olives, horticulture, and the construction of hanging gardens, courses created in collaboration with the Palestinian government's Ministry of Agriculture to encourage women's firms and offer tools for organic and sustainable agriculture.
(ANS - Kigali) - Among the hardest hit by the lockdown on activities, in different ways and at different times, practically globally, are young people: young people who inevitably have dreams, plans, expectations ... All things that have been stopped or at least suspended at this stage. At the "Don Bosco" Youth Center in Gatenga, in Kigali, the Director and several young people met to elaborate past problems with awareness and identify prospects of hope in and for the future.
(ANS - Cebu) - Taichi Miranda was one of the young observers who took part in the GC28. The young woman shared some of this experience which left her a lot and which, above all, made her feel "connected with the Salesian missions around the world".
In general, we hear that young people are: passionate, fearless, idealistic, reckless. Young people are indeed like this, sometimes it could be an advantage or a danger. But, on a cold December 1859, in the silence of the outskirts of Turin, in a modest room, 19 young people listened attentively to the words of a dreamer priest and made a covenant: they promised to give themselves entirely to God and to help young people throughout their lives. And to be like Don Bosco, that priest who above all loved them.

Italy – Birth Centenary Conference on Ven. Fr Giuseppe Quadrio, SDB
