(ANS - Recife) - At the end of his Animation Visit to the Brazil-Sao Paulo and Brazil-Recife Provinces, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, returned to Rome, together with his secretary, Fr Horacio López. Meanwhile in the Recife Province, Salesians still taste the fruits of sharing and fraternity experienced with the Rector Major.
(ANS - Juazeiro do Norte) - In Juazeiro do Norte, State of Ceará, the local Salesian community is preparing celebrations for the 80th anniversary of its presence in the land of Fr Cicero Romao Batista (1844-1934), a very active priest in the defense of the poor and the exploited, why Fr Batista is still very much loved by the local population. In this climate of expectation, celebration and devotion, Major Rector Fr Ángel Fernández Artime was welcomed at Juazeiro on Wednesday, 25 October.
(ANS - Recife) - The Brazilian activities of Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, continued on the last two days with the closing of the Animation Visit to the Province of Sao Paulo and the beginning of his visit to Recife.
(ANS - Sao Paulo) - The fourth and fifth day of the Rector Major's Animation Visit, at the Brasilia-São Paulo (BSP) Provincial Office, reserved an intense program of appointments for Fr Ángel Fernández Artime. Among the most significant moments: tribute to the venerable Salesian Fr Rodolfo Komórek, and the visit to the headquarters of Cancão Nova, the 25th Salesian Family Group, at Cachoeira Paulista.
(ANS - Brno) – One's own vocational journey, the current state of the Salesian charism for Europe, the Salesian response to the challenges of migration ... Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime discussed this and other issues with the local youth in Brno a few weeks ago during his animation visit to the Czech Republic. (ANS - Sao Paulo) - On the third day of his visit to the "Mary Help of Christians" Province of Sao Paulo on Monday, October 16, Rector Major Ángel Fernández Artime went to Campinas-SP, a city of about 1 million inhabitants in which the Salesians have developed a vast number of projects with the community.

Democratic Republic of Congo – Fr Owoudou on the situation in the eastern parts of the country: “No matter how dark the night may seem, dawn will inevitably come”
(ANS - Goma) - During his latest phase of the Extraordinary Visit to the "Mary Most Holy Assumption" Province of Central Africa (AFC), Fr. Alphonse Owoudou, Councillor for the Africa Madagascar Region, conducted an interview with the magazine "JAMBO VIJANA," representing the youth engaged in the Salesian works of the Province's Eastern Delegation. Addressing the ongoing violence and conflicts in the region, Fr. Owoudou expressed hope, saying: "No matter the length of the night, dawn will inevitably come."

Italy – "Labs To Future": the final event of the "Labs To Learn" project in Valdocco
(ANS – Turin) – The final event of the "Labs to Learn" project was held on Tuesday, 5 March 2024, entitled "Labs To Future: The path – The results – The challenges" . The project was selected by the "Con i Bambini" social enterprise within the framework of the Foundation for the Fight against Child Educational Poverty and came into being with the intention of combating early school leaving and preventing educational poverty, increasing the number of young people with difficulties who fulfil their school obligation, access higher education and/or job placement, and opening the way for personal growth according to their inclinations and aspirations.

Peru – Centenary of the High Altar of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Lima
(ANS – Lima) – The centenary of the consecration of the high altar in the Crypt of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Lima was celebrated on 19 March, on the feast of St Joseph and in homage to Fr José Calasanz Marqués, then Provincial of the Salesians in Peru and Bolivia – now recognised as Blessed by the Church – on account of his name.
