This book is a short biography of the “Gentle Saint’ who is the patron and namesake of the Salesians of Don Bosco, written by Fr Eunan McDonnell SDB, who currently holds the office of Provincial of the Irish Province.

From a very early age, Francis desired to serve God. He became noted for his deep faith and his gentle approach to the religious divisions in his land resulting from the Protestant Reformation.

This brief biography draws attention to the correspondence between the human heart and God's heart, through which Francis urges us to let go of any anxiety that seeks to rob us of the inner peace and joy that God desires for us.
