Publication of the Pontifical Yearbook and the Statistical Yearbook of the Church

From the reading of the data reported in the Pontifical Yearbook, some novelties relating to the life of the Catholic Church in the world can be inferred, starting from 2019.
During this period, the following were erected:
4 new Episcopal Offices,
1 Eparchy,
2 Territorial Prelatures,
1 Apostolic Exarchate and 1 Apostolic Administration.

Elevated were:
1 Archbishop See and 4 Dioceses in Metropolitan Headquarters,
1 Territorial Prelature and an Apostolic Vicariate in Bishopric,
2 Apostolic Exarchates to Eparchie.

From the Statistical Yearbook of the Church it emerges that:
- Catholics baptized in the world have increased by 6%. From 2013 to 2018, they went from almost 1,254 million to 1,329 million;
- the highest proportion is in the Americas with 63.7 Catholics per 100 inhabitants; Europe follows with 39.7 Catholics, Oceania with 26.3 and Africa with 19.4; the lowest incidence is in Asia with 3.3 Catholics per 100 inhabitants;
- the number of bishops has increased (from 5,173 in 2013 to 5,377 in 2018), but the number of priests decreased by 0.3%;
- the number of permanent deacons has increased by 10%;
- decreasing, the number of: professed non-priest religious (-8%), professed religious (-7.5%), seminarians (-2%).
