The ancient bells of the Basilica of Maria Ausiliatrice

On May 21, 1868, the first bells of the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin were blessed.
The largest has a weight of 870 kilograms, the second 750 and the smallest 250.

They were created in the ancient foundry “G.B. Mazzola e Figli” of Valduggia (Valsesia).
150 years ago, in May 1870, three other smaller bells were added.
In 1922, all the bells were replaced by larger ones. In 1925, the "ancient" bells were moved to the bell tower of the new Salesian church of Gesù Adolescente in Borgo San Paolo in Turin. Here, it is still operational.
