New Christians in Thailand

Even if 95% of the citizens of Thailand are Buddhist and only 0.4% are Catholics, however every year, in the churches cared for by the Salesians and in the institutions of the Salesian Family, there are always adults of other religions who approach to attend Catechism and receive the Sacraments of Initiation.

During the Easter Vigil on Saturday 3 April, some new catechumens received the sacrament. They are distributed as follows:
8 in the “Mary Help of Christians” Salesian Parish in Bangkok;
12 in the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in Hatyai;
4 in the "St Mary's School" in Udornthani;
4 in the community of the Salesian Sisters of Sampran.

In Thailand there are currently:
405,727 Catholics in 11 dioceses;
