The Statistical Yearbook of the Catholic Church shows that the number of baptized people in the world is growing in proportion to the growth of the world population.

On a continental level, there has been a 1.8% increase in the number of Catholics in Asia, but the greatest growth is in Africa, where there has been a 2.1% increase.

In Europe, the increase is just 0.3%.

America remains the continent where the greatest number of Catholics are counted: they represent 48% of the world's Catholics, of which 28% are in South America.

With the exception of Africa (+1,004) and Asia (+778), the number of priests has decreased.

On the other hand, the number of deacons (+1%) and professed religious increases (from 50,295 in 2019 to 50,569 in 2020).
