The statistics of the Catholic Church

On the occasion of the 93rd World Missionary Day, Sunday 20 October 2019, Fides Agency presented as usual some statistics to offer a panoramic picture of the Church in the world.
The world population is 7,408,374,000 people, among whom the Catholics are 1,313,278,000. The worldwide percentage of Catholics has increased by 0.06%, reaching 17.73%.

In the world there are:

414,582 Priests
5,389 Bishops
46,894 Permanent Deacons
355,800 lay missionaries
3,120,321 Catechists
115,328 Major seminarians
100,781 Minor seminarians

The ecclesiastical circumscriptions are 3,017.
There are 2,659 Missionary Stations with a resident priest and 137,791 without a resident priest.
