(ANS – Makati) – Fr Jose Dindo Vitug, a Filipino Salesian, is responsible for "Don Bosco Tech ASEAN", the body that coordinates Salesian Technical Vocational Education and Training Centres in Myanmar, the Philippines, East Timor, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. This is how this important Salesian network is described today and its future prospects.
(ANS - Montevideo) - Virginia Mallarini, a young 26-year-old woman from Montevideo, is part of the Salesian Missionary Volunteer Service (VMS). She is currently studying biology and works as an animator. In this interview she presents what God has sown in her life and that has emerged with enthusiasm during her mission at “El Cottolengo” center of Montevideo, which offers a shelter, a socialization, recreation and rehabilitation home, empowering girls, adolescents and women with disabilities.
(ANS - Porto Alegre) - The Secular Institute of "Volunteers with Don Bosco" (CDB), one of the groups of the Salesian Family, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. In 1994 the then Rector Major, Fr Egidio Viganò, betting on the vocation of some young people, proposed the foundation of a secular institute called "Volunteers" to them. The group is currently present in 27 countries and has about 95 members. In Brazil, Luciano, from Leopoldina, in the State of Minas Gerais, is the referent for Vocational Animation. Recently he visited some young candidates from the Provinces of Porto Alegre and Sao Paulo.
