(ANS - Lyon) - Life in common is of course a challenge for the hostels of the Salesian schools of France.  Educators need creativity and commitment. But how is life in a Salesian Hostel? Here are the testimonies of some of the educators.

(ANS – Xuan Hiep) – Fr John Chrysostom Pham Ngoc Truong has been Delegate for Youth Ministry of the Vietnamese Province for the past two years. He is therefore the best person to give an overqll view of the condition of the Salesian Youth Ministry in the St John Bosco Province (VIE).

(ANS - Inharrime) - Sister Lucilia Teixeira Monteiro is a Portuguese Daughter of Mary Help of Christians (FMA). For 42 years she has been a missionary in Mozambique.  Since 2004 she has been working at Inharrime with orphaned children and young people who are being educated in the faith and for life. "Our children do not have parents, but they have found a family, they are happy to have us and we are happy to have them, because the Salesian life has meaning only because they exist," she says.

(ANS - Bailleul) - How can we give meaning to the commitment of students in vocational schools? One possible answer is given by the staff of the Sainte Marie Professional Institute in Bailleul. This was formerly a Salesian school and still follows the pedagogy of Don Bosco. Students and teachers are working together on a specific project, entrusted to them by the town of Bailleul: to turn a former orphanage into a music school.
