(ANS - Gambella) - In Ethiopia the Gambella region, on the border with South Sudan, is burdened by many problems - poverty, strong ethnic tensions, lack of industries and infrastructure - but not by the relationships between Christians and Muslims. "Here religion is not a reason for division. The cohabitation among the faithful is serene. I will say more: it is natural, in the sense that it is not the object of reflection: it simply happens. And we are very happy about it," says Fr Aristide Marcandalli, a 53-year-old Salesian priest, of which 25 lived in Ethiopia.
(ANS - Panama City) - A few months before the World Youth Day (WYD), the world leaders of this event met in Panama to organize everything with the utmost precision. Even the Salesians of the Rome Headquarters have also had several preparatory meetings and everything proceeds as scheduled. And the Salesians in Panama? They are continuing to organize and remodel everything to welcome the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and the thousands of young people of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM). Fr Rómulo Gallegos, from the Shrine of Don Bosco in Panama City, answers some questions.
(ANS - Turin) - Next Sunday, June 24, is the feast of St. John the Baptist, which the past pupils of Don Bosco took to celebrate as a celebration of gratitude towards the Father, Teacher and Friend of young people. In view of this anniversary, we wish to rediscover what guided all the pastoral and educational action of Don Bosco, his dreams. We do so with Fr Andrea Bozzolo, who recently published the book, "I Sogni di Don Bosco," or "The Dreams of Don Bosco. Spiritual experience and educational wisdom."
