(ANS – New Rochelle) – Later this month, Fr. Thomas Pallithanam, who has served as the Salesian Representative at the United Nations (U.N.) for nearly five years, will head back to his home Province in India. Fr. Thomas first arrived in the SUE Province in October 2018. During his time here as the Salesian Representative at the U.N., Fr. Thomas has strengthened the Salesian presence at the U.N. and opened several doors for them. He has worked diligently and passionately to have the Salesians be present at the U.N. in Geneva, Vienna, and various other centers.

(ANS– Rome) – On the occasion of World Youth Day (WYD) to be held in Lisbon from 1 to 6 August, there are numerous initiatives proposed by Salesian communities for those who will be going to it. Fr Marco Cimini, a Salesian and educator at the Borgo Ragazzi Don Bosco in Rome, testifies: “I am convinced that young people are like sponges that must be educated.”

(ANS – Bolton) – Last week, the Salesians of the province of Great Britain (GBR) had a visit from the, Fr Mykhaylo Chaban, Superior of the Salesian vice-province  “Mary Help of Christians” of the Greek-Catholic Ukraine.  He had travelled there to meet with students of Thornleigh Salesian College and he was able to sit with them to give an update of the situation in Ukraine.

(ANS - Palabek) - "In 2015, Pope Francis invited Congregations not only to work in refugee camps, but also to live there. So we Salesians accepted the challenge to be inside Palabek. Other organizations work there, but they don't live there. They leave every day, but we Salesians are the only ones authorized to live in places like Palabek or Kakuma, Kenya." These are the words of Br. Máximo Herrera, a Salesian coadjutor from Argentina, who is a missionary in Africa.
