Italy - Don Bosco San Salvario: charity does not stop

14 April 2020

Turin, Italy - April 2020 – During these weeks of quarantine some families of the oratory "San Luigi", located in Turin's San Salvario district, are in situations of great hardship. For this reason, the oratory brings them a bag of groceries every Wednesday. Andrea goes to the food bank where he loads the van with fruit and vegetables, then drives to the oratory where Fr Mario Fissore, SDB, is waiting for him, together with the youths of the community who get busy unloading and arranging the boxes. Giuseppe and Roberta then prepare the bags for the families and start the door-to-door distribution; with her car, Rachid reaches the most distant families; Loredana and Maria join some families and elderly people in difficulty. In addition, the "Santi Pietro e Paolo" parish, in collaboration with the Neighborhood House, has carried out a large distribution program from the food bank for over 100 families in the neighborhood.
