Poland - Regional Councilor for Central/Northern Europe visits Krakow formation community
Krakow, Poland - May 2020 - On May 26, Fr Roman Jachimowicz, Regional Councilor for Central and Northern Europe, visited the formation community (Theologate) "Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary" in Krakow. The visit is part of a series of meetings scheduled in Poland due to the impossibility of Fr Jachimowicz to go to Italy because of the COVID-19 lockdown. After a dinner and a common prayer, the Councilor offered the "Salesian goodnight" to the Salesians, encouraging them to seek the needy and to be sensitive to the most vulnerable, a legacy transmitted to the Salesians by Don Bosco himself. Fr Jachimowicz also observed that the Salesian mission requires constant vigilance and openness to the signs of the times, with the necessary cooperation with the laity. His message ended with a reference to the harmful effects of prosperity and comfort, which can obscure charismatic alertness and sensitivity.
