India - Commission for Formation Meeting of South Asia
India - August 2020 - From 27 to 30 August Fr Ivo Coelho, General Councilor for Formation, chaired the online meeting of the Formation Commission of the South Asia Region. 25 people took part in the event: the team of the Formation Department, led by Fr Coelho and composed of Fr Silvio Roggia, Fr Raymond Callo and Fr Jose Kuttianimattathil; Fr Joyce Mathew, in charge of Formation of the Conference of Salesian Provinces of South Asia (SPCSA); the Provincial Delegates for Formation, and the Provincial Vicars. The meeting was held with the aim of drawing up a draft of the Regional Formation Plan for 2020-2026 in the light of the GC28; create a forum for the formation of the Provincial Delegates for Formation; inform and involve participants in current training issues. To this end, various documents were studied, such as the Letter of Pope Francis to the GC28; "GC28: Post-Chapter Document"; the Program Letter of the Six-Year Term and the Post-Capitular Reflections; the draft of the Plan of the Department for Formation for 2020-2026; as well as the 2019 final report on Initial Formation in South Asia.
