Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Brazil - October 2020 - On 18 October the Salesian Province of Recife (BRE) celebrated the 77th edition of the "Romaria of the Salesian Family", a pilgrimage that brings together hundreds of faithful to the Shrine of "Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora", in Jaboatão dos Guararapes. For the first time, the pilgrimage took place in person and online, events designed to meet protocols to combat Covid-19. The pilgrimage, carried out on the theme "For your protection, we turn to the Holy Mother of God", was broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Salesians of Recife with over eight hours of live broadcasts. It began with Mass in the Shrine, chaired by the Provincial, Fr Nivaldo Luiz Pessinatti. Then the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians led the Marian prayers with the participation of the communities of the BRE Province, of various groups of the Salesian and diocesan Family, and concluded with the plea to God, through Our Lady, to put an end to the pandemic worldwide. "Radio Padre Cícero" from Juazeiro do Norte broadcast the event in over 30 cities in the region.
