Rapolo, Papua New Guinea - November 2020 - Over the weekend of November 20-21, the parish of "Mary Help of Christians" in Rapolo, which has just celebrated its first anniversary, organized a formation meeting for catechists and lay collaborators in the mission. The meeting was led by Fr Moise Paluku, SDB, Rector and Parish Priest, who presented the participants with the Reference Framework for Salesian Youth Ministry, especially with reference to activities in parishes and shrines. Fr Paluku, aware that the parish leaders and animators are recently approaching Don Bosco's charism, introduced them to Salesian spirituality, and indicated the priority of reaching out to young people active in the parish to them. The catechists were also instructed on the structure of the Church, the Salesian Family and the concept of an Educational and Pastoral Community. The last day of formation was dedicated to an in-depth evaluation of the activities and statistics of each mission station of the parish.
