Colombia - 1st Assembly of Salesian Network of Schools and Vocational Training Centers of Bogotá Province

Bogotá, Colombia - February 2021 - The 1st Assembly of the Salesian Network of Schools and Labor Education Centers was held on 11 February, and was organized by the Education Commission of the Bogotá Province (COB). The event, led by Fr Leonardo Gómez, Coordinator of the Provincial Service of Schools and Vocational Training Centers (CFP), was attended by 110 people including Salesian directors, lay rectors, academic and vocational training coordinators. The objective was to animate and accompany the processes carried out in each of the educational centers and respond to what was proposed in the Provincial planning and in the Network. Fr Tarcizio Morais, Coordinator of Schools and CFP of the Salesian Congregation, spoke on the theme "New normal of creative hope: Covid and post Covid-19", which centered on the importance that the safe return of children and young people, educators and leaders, has for the Salesian school, and where the physical, mental and pastoral care of people becomes a fundamental axis of the educational project. Among the other topics dealt with were the review of the operational framework for the 2021-2026 term; the presentation of the current situation and the intervention of Fr John Jairo Gómez Rúa, COB Provincial.
