Poland – Awards to Salesians and Salesian institutions for their contribution to missionary work of the Church
Warsaw, Poland - April 2021 - On April 14 at the Shrine of St. Padre Pio in Warsaw, the awards were given to the people and institutions that have contributed to the missionary work of the Church. The Salesians Fr Jacek Zdzieborski and Fr Maciej Makuła received the “Benemerenti in Opere Evangelizationis” medal for the institutions they manage; while the "Salesian Missionary Center" received the award in the category "For merits in missionary work"; and the editorial staff of Catholic TVP Programs (“Between earth and sky”, TVP), received the award in the "Media Information" category. The Polish Episcopal Commission for Missions expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Salesian Missionary Center in Warsaw for the many years of prayer and material support for missionaries and mission volunteers, for the promotion of missionary work in Poland and for the publication of the Salesian Missionary magazine. The Catholic editorial team, on the other hand, stood out for its fruitful collaboration with the Missionary Commission in promoting aid to missions ad gentes, as well as for missionary animation and formation.
