Évora, Portugal - April 2021 - As part of the Extraordinary Visit he is carrying out in the Province of Portugal on behalf of the Rector Major, Fr Gildasio Mendes, General Councilor for Social Communication, visited the Salesian presence in Évora. From 10 to 15 April, he met the Salesian community, the laity involved in the Salesian mission, the representatives of the groups of the Salesian Family and of the apostolic movements of the school and of the parish. Especially warm was the "good day" that Fr Mendes offered the students of the various educational cycles, fascinating them with stories, his songs, and advice on life. In his concluding message, the General Councilor offered words of encouragement: “You, Salesians of this community, have grown in the commitment to be the people of God, consecrated for the Salesian mission at the service of the young. Continue to live the Salesian spirituality rooted in 'Da Mihi animas coetera tolle'".
