Thailand - Bangsak's "Don Bosco Home" becomes icon of Laudato Sì

11 May 2021

Bangsak, Thailand - May 2021 - The Salesian Cooperators of Thailand have launched a pilot project inspired by Pope Francis' Laudato Sì, at the "Don Bosco Home" in Bangsak, located in the south of the country. The young people of the "Don Bosco Home", although mostly Buddhists, study the encyclical of Pope Francis and put it into practice. They began to revive the natural environment surrounding the Salesian house by planting tall trees and fruit trees, cleaning and preserving the environment and the water of the local stream. At the moment, young people are growing fruit and vegetables and fertilizing the soil with natural systems. After four months of the project, accompanied by the Salesian Cooperators and the staff of the “Don Bosco Home”, the young people began to reap the fruits of their work.
