Brazil - Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro celebrates Mass for peace in Salesian parish of Jacarezinho
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - May 2021 - On 12 May, in the Salesian parish of "Mary Help of Christians" in Jacarezinho, Cardinal Orani João Tempesta, Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, presided at the Mass for peace in the presence of Fr Natale Vitali, Belo Horizonte Provincial (BBH). During Mass, the cardinal prayed for peace in all the communities and for the families of the 28 dead in the "Exceptis" operation, conducted by the civil police on 6 May. In a letter sent to the BBH Province, Cardinal Tempesta thanks the Salesians for their commitment and pastoral, educational and social work carried out by the archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro.
