Chile - May 2021 - On May 10, Fr Alfred Maravilla, General Councilor for the Missions, chaired the online meeting of the Provincial Delegates for Missionary Animation of the Southern Cone. Fr Maravilla presented the plan for the Department's six-year term, which is based on missionary vocation and animation, formation of Provincial Delegates and regional coordinators for missionary animation and joint work with the other Sectors. For the Province of Chile, the work in the area of Missionary Animation was presented through the Delegate Fr José Chaf. Starting from the 2021-2026 Salesian Pastoral Educational Project, guidelines were established regarding the Salesian Missionary Volunteer Service (VMS), generating a formative project in collaboration with the Youth Ministry team. Finally, a date will be discerned to establish the Salesian Mission Day.
