Mexico - International Preparation Course for Perpetual Profession

19 July 2021

Guadalajara, Mexico - July 2021 - The preparation course for Perpetual Profession took place from 13 June to 10 July. It was attended by 26 young Salesians, aspiring priests and brothers, from the America South Cone and Interamerica Regions. The course, which has been taking place in Mexico for several years now, is currently the result of the collaboration of the Salesian theologians of Guatemala and Tlaquepaque as well as of CRESCO, the Regional Center for the Specific Formation of the Salesian Brother, also located in Guatemala. Four weeks were dedicated to the study of various themes linked to the vocation to Salesian religious life in the perspective of consecration for life. An especially rich moment of the experience was the Ignatian spiritual exercises that took place in the Bethsaida house in Amatitán, Jalisco. Some participants will make Perpetual Profession in the next few days, others in the following months, and still others are already perpetual Salesians but have not had the opportunity to live this experience, mainly due to the social distancing and restrictions for travel abroad necessary to cope with the pandemic.
