Papua New Guinea - Students produce short films of hope, faith and inspiration

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - July 2021 - The IV Media Education Seminar was held from 16 to 18 July on the theme "Hope in the midst of Covid-19", which was attended by 41 students from eight Catholic schools. The seminar, led by Fr Ambrose Pereira, SDB, Secretary of the Social Communication Office of the Episcopal Conference of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands, was mainly focused on the creation of short films. Participants had the opportunity to hone their skills in the art of cinematography through numerous technical and other sessions focusing on various topics, including the discernment of information in the midst of the pandemic and the theology of communication. On the closing day of the seminary, in the presence of Fr Gregory Bicomong, Superior of the Salesian Vice Province of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands (PGS), the short films produced by participants were presented to an audience of students, family members, religious, professors and animators, films that illustrated the importance of hope, faith and inspiration during the pandemic.
