East Timor - Meeting of the Economers of the TLS Vice Province
Dili, East Timor - November 2021 - The Economer of the Salesian Vice Province of East Timor (TLS), Fr Guy da Silva do Carmo, organized a meeting on 4 and 5 November in which 15 Economers of Salesian communities and laypersons from the office staff of the Economer of the Vice Province participated. During the meeting, held at the Salesian house in Dili-Comoro, the Economer of the Vice Province presented the annual report on the overall activities of his office, the progress of the various projects in progress and the financial support of the various benefactors to projects of the TLS Vice Province. The following projects are currently being followed at the level of the TLS Vice Province: Planning and Development Office (PDO), Missions Office, DB Tech (for the development of Vocational Training Centers), and the “Salesian Media Center”. During the presentation, Fr do Carmo highlighted the challenges that the TLS Vice Province is facing and encouraged each community to motivate the progress of the Income Generating Unit to ensure the self-sustainability of each one. Thanks to the support of the Salesian Headquarters, other Salesian Provinces, and various national and international benefactors, as well as the government of East Timor and the Timorese Episcopal Conference, the TLS Vice Province is able to finalize some projects planned for this year.
