Mozambique - SYM Youth Forum
Namaacha, Mozambique - October 2021 - About 100 young people took part in the Salesian Youth Forum organized from 29 to 31 October by the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) at the Salesian house in Namaacha. This year, the event, which is a traditional meeting of the SYM of the Salesian Vice Province of Mozambique (MOZ), took place in a limited manner in compliance with the health guidelines for the prevention of the pandemic. The activity was led by Fr Sérgio Daniel Saíde, Delegate for Youth Ministry of the MOZ Vice Province, accompanied by various SDBs and FMAs who helped the participants to live the moment in depth. The experience of the forum was lived under two focal and orienting lines: the Strenna 2022 of the Rector Major "Do all through love, nothing through constraint", and the theme proposed by Pope Francis for World Youth Day 2021: "Stand up. I appoint you as a witness of what you have seen." (cf. Acts 26:16). Fr Adolfo Sarmento, MOZ Superior, presided over the Eucharistic celebration at the end of the forum.
