Guatemala - Meeting of the Preferential Option Sector of the Central American Province
Guatemala City, Guatemala - November 2021 - The virtual meeting of educators and animators of the Vocational Training Centers, oratories and schools of the "Divine Savior" Salesian Province of Central America (CAM) took place on 11 November. During the meeting, the participants reflected on the care that Salesian works offer to young people in a situation of vulnerability and on the psycho-social impact that the pandemic has caused on their lives. The result of the reflections was the work that was carried out with adaptability and resilience to counter the negative effects of the pandemic. In the same way, educators shared the tools that allowed them to accompany young people in a virtual and semi-present way. The importance of specific accompaniment for educators and animators, which allows them to evaluate their abilities and face challenges, was also deepened. The meeting was a moment of personal and professional enrichment. The Preferential Option Sector reaffirmed the commitment to the animation of Salesians and lay people who live the educational task of accompanying young people in the style of Don Bosco every day.
