22 November 2021

Podgorica, Montenegro - November 2021 - The only Salesian presence in the Montenegrin capital, Podgorica, belongs to the Province of Slovenia (SLO), which also manages the only Catholic parish in the area and cultivates relations with the residents and representatives of foreign countries and international institutions in Montenegro. One of the most active helpers of the institute is the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, which supports and helps the Don Bosco Center in Podgorica. On 18 November the Salesian house welcomed Mrs. Agata Kornhauser Duda, wife of Mr. Andrzej Duda, the President of Poland. The First Lady visited the parish church, the Franciscan nuns, and the Salesian community, led by the Rector and Parish Priest Fr Janez Mirtek, SDB. She met the staff and the students of the language school, and the Director of the institute, Fr Izidor Lukić, SDB. Later, she interacted with the animators and young people at the youth center led by Fr Rudi Tisel, SDB. At the end of the visit, she congratulated the Salesians for their work for the young people and for the education offered in the style of Don Bosco, which makes young people grow up as good Christians and honest citizens. For their part, the Salesians and the educative-pastoral community thanked Mrs Kornhauser Duda for her visit and for supporting the Salesian presence.
