Brazil - Salesian community of Lorraine: 120 years of social action in Don Bosco’s light
Lorraine, Brazil - March 2022 - On 13 March the celebrations began for the 120th anniversary of the foundation of the Oratory and Social Work "São Luís" of Lorraine, belonging to the Salesian Province of Brazil-São Paulo (BSP). The opening Mass was presided over by Fr Alexandro Santana, SDB, Rector of the presence, in the courtyard of the oratory, with the participation of employees, members of the communities, and local services. Douglas Silva, General Coordinator of the Social Work, paid tribute to the people who contributed to the realization of the 120th anniversary and the reopening of the "São José" Chapel. After the Mass, Fr Santana led the procession with the translation of the Blessed Sacrament into the chapel. On 18 March the Lorraine City Council held a solemn act of public recognition that paid tribute to the work of the Salesian house in the field of education and development of young people.
