Campos do Goytacazes, Brazil - March 2022 - The "Don Bosco Institute" of Campos do Goytacazes received an honorable mention from the city's municipality on March 21 for its actions in the fight against the pandemic. During January 2022, the Don Bosco Institute functioned as a testing center for Covid-19, with a thousand tests per day, and a few months earlier had participated in a blood donation drive in favor of the Regional Blood Center. The award was received on behalf of the institute by Professor Gustavo Verçosa, Pedagogical Supervisor of Elementary and Secondary Schools. The Don Bosco Institute was inaugurated in 1958 and is part of the Salesian Schools Network of the Province of Belo Horizonte (BBH). It has an educational infrastructure of over 40,000 square meters, where the school community has access to an auditorium, air-conditioned classrooms with digital whiteboards, a library with a collection of over ten thousand texts, and science and computer labs. In addition to reading, music, and party rooms, it also has a sports complex, a green area with a courtyard, an orchard, and a small zoological area.
