For this year’s celebration; it is coincided that we also celebrate the 20th anniversary of our independence and the 30th anniversary of the foundation of Mary Help of Christians. Indeed; this is an opportune time to thank God through the intercession of Our Lady Help of Christians.
In the homily; his grace, Don Virgilio mentioned some the virtues Our Lady imparted to us as the sons and daughters of Don Bosco to be imitated. In a special manner His Grace mentioned the virtues of Obedience and complete trust in God. The homily was based on the gospel reading flows from John; the event in Cana. In that gospel scene of Canna; Mary encourages us to do everything Jesus says. Jesus knows what is best for us and for our humanity. To conclude his homily; Don Virgilio invited all the Marian devotees to continue spread the Marian devotion in and out of season.
During the Mass, there was an oath taking by the news parish council for the year of 2022-2025. The celebrant of the eucharist advised them in order to be faithful and energetic in the mission entrusted to them with the help of God.
Aside from the many attendees; there were also the first parish priest (Fr. Manuel Fraile, SDB) and the current parish priest (Fr. Joao Roque,SDB)
At the end of the mass; the representative from the previous parish council delivered their thanks giving speech. In the speech the representative also mentioned a bit history of the parish. Then, Fr. Joao Roque,SDB, as the parish priest thanking everyone for their participation and in a special manner thanked the Archbishop for his availability amidst the business to celebrate the Eucharist with them. It is indeed a moment of Grace.
The celebration was concluded with grand dinner in the parish hall in the presence of the archbishop.
