Czech Republic - Four missionary volunteers sent from Prague to the world
Prague, Czech Republic - June 2022 - On Sunday, June 12, in the Salesian church of "St. Therese of Lisieux" the ceremony of sending Czech missionary volunteers abroad was held. The four young people, Adam, Josef, Josefína, and Vojtěch, who have been preparing for a year for service in Salesian missions through the Salesian NGO "SADBA," will travel to Ecuador, Tanzania, Mongolia, and Bulgaria. The event was attended by people from various countries of the Salesian world: from the Salesian Headquarters in Rome, Fr. George Menamparampil came as a delegate of the Missions Sector; from Mongolia, missionary Fr. Jaroslav Vracovský; from Zambia, Salesian missionary coadjutor František Radecki. Also present were four members of the Salesian Missionary Volunteer Advisory Committee: Lauren Hichaaba, from the Province of Australia (AUL); Fr. Juan Carlos Montenegro, from the United States West (SUO) Province; and two members from the Salesian Headquarters in Rome, Fr. Rafael Bejarano of the Sector for Youth Ministry, and Fr. Pavel Ženíšek, of the Sector for Missions. The new volunteers are a sign of hope for many young people and a beautiful witness of service in the Salesian charism.
