Mexico - Conclusion of Salesian Missionary Volunteering experience of 2021-2022 cycle
Nuevo Laredo, Mexico - June 2022 - The third and final meeting of the Salesian Missionary Volunteering (VMS) experience of the 2021-2022 cycle was held from June 3-5, with the participation of nine volunteers from the communities of Colima, León, and Nuevo Laredo. The goal of the meeting was to offer the participants the conclusion of their volunteering, to reread together the meaning of their experience, and plan for their next phase of life when they return to their places of origin. In keeping with the Salesian Congregation manual, the areas in which they worked were: the human dimension, Christian and Salesian values, apostolic experience, and the vocational dimension. In the formative moments, efforts were made to promote reflection through self-assessment, group sharing, and spiritual enlightenment. The meeting culminated with the Eucharist celebrated by VMS leader Fr. Kennedy Delgado, SDB, during which each volunteer was given a sweatshirt as a gift of thanksgiving at the conclusion of their experience in their respective communities.
