Czerwińsk nad Wisłą, Poland - June 2022 - The Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession on the Vistula River, the only one of its kind in Poland, took place on June 16, as part of the project "Czerwińsk - the Spiritual Capital of Mazovia," carried out at the Marian shrine of Czerwińsk nad Wisła, entrusted since 1923 to the care of the Salesians of the Warsaw Province (AWP). The 18-kilometer water trail was organized with the cooperation of three parishes located by the Vistula: Smoszewie, Chociszewie (Wychódźc), and Secemin. Four altars were built on the banks of the Vistula, a cross was carried on one boat, a flag of St. Barbara, the patron saint of fishermen, was carried on another, and an altar with the Blessed Sacrament was prepared on a wooden boat, assisted by firemen holding a canopy. More than 50 boats, jet skis, and larger boats carried the participants of this unique Corpus Christi procession. Most of them were young people and parents with children, who, situated above the water, listened to the four Gospels and actively participated in prayer and singing. After reaching Czerwińsk nad Wisłą, the Blessed Sacrament was carried by custodian Fr. Łukasz Mastalerz, SDB, to the Medieval Basilica of Czerwińsk, accompanied by the singing of the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
