Toronto, Canada - June 2022 - The Salesian Cooperators of the Inter-American Region held a virtual training meeting on Sunday, June 26, on "The Profile of Formators of the Association of Salesian Cooperators." The event was attended by about 150 members of the Association from the 13 countries that form the region. Joe Conroy, coordinator of the province of Canada, welcomed the participants; a talk by the World Councilor of Salesian Cooperators of the Inter-American Region, Francisco Burciaga, then followed. The theme was developed through a talk by Carla Comin, a Salesian Cooperator from Canada, who presented the profile of the formator through 12 specific points that mark the effectiveness of the training action, such as the set of attitudes, skills, competencies, and actions that are necessary to accomplish this important service. Through a video, the Salesian Cooperators presented the six centers that make up their province, two French-speaking and four English-speaking, showing the different apostolates of each. At the end of the event, Martín Calderón, regional head of formation, thanked everyone for participating in the various meetings held since September 2021 on the theme "Being salt and light for young people," a review was made and those who made them possible were thanked. This last meeting, organized by the Salesian Cooperators of the Province of Canada and the region’s communications team, coordinated by Martín Calderón, was held in English with Spanish and French translations in the "Zoom rooms," and on the three Facebook channels of the Inter-American region.
