Bratislava, Slovakia - July 2022 - The Salesian youth organization called "DOMKA," belonging to the Salesian Province of Slovakia (SLK), has eight thousand registered members. It is the largest youth organization in the country. Thousands more young people participate in various activities and programs without being officially registered. In addition, a soccer club with 500 members and 70 coaches has been established within it. There are 35 Salesian presences in the country and 12 are run by lay people. The Slovak government appreciates the skills of the Salesians with young people and has funded the Salesian volunteer program for refugees, especially children, and youth. The program is led by a very qualified and experienced woman in this field, who created processes and brought a lot of creativity, dynamism, energy, quality, and discipline. Volunteers are active in Salesian institutions, state centers, and other NGOs.
